Here you are able to view through large windows our hatching and hand rearing rooms.Depending on the seasons you can watch chicks hatching from the egg, then hand fed and nurtured until weaning. You may be lucky enough to watch as a young chick (just like the Scarlet Macaw chick in the picture) breaks out of its egg. Then (with further visits)veiw it as it grows, learns to eat and play with other macaws, then finally be placed out in birdland until one day old enough to breed.

At Tropical Birdland, one of our most important roles is to encourage breeding from all the different species that we keep here.
This list can change daily, as new chicks are hatching all the time. The majority of our chicks are hand reared, especially the more common species. This means that they are extremely friendly and are for sale from approximately 3 days of age. A deposit will secure your chosen parrot.
Your baby bird must be fully weaned before it can go home with you.
We also breed certain highly endagered species of tropical birds. These can be viewed in the hatchery, but they are not for sale. Our intention is to one day, release these birds back into the wild where they belong.
Please phone or email with any questions you may have about purchasing a parrot from Tropical Birdland. We are here to help and advise, and it is important to us that all our fledglings go to good homes.
